In 2020, Meta committed $25 million to Black creators, then created a program dedicated to HBCU student-athletes. I named it Go Lab. Thirty-seven athletes across 21 different schools came together for weekly workshops. These weekly meet-ups covered how to monetize and win with Meta’s products. Moreover, these sessions held space for student-athletes to form connections and build together. My mission was to assist with the programming language, build social momentum with words, and write email blasts to keep participants informed. After much success with the first cohort, Go Lab saw a second season. I even got a pair of custom AF1s out of it.
